Thea Lim is a novelist, culture writer, and creative writing teacher. Her 2018 novel, An Ocean of Minutes, was nominated for national and international prizes and translated into three languages. Her culture writing on technology, personhood, art-making, and power is in The Nation, the Paris Review, Guernica, and the Guardian, and her short fiction and essays are in Granta, Black Warrior Review and others. She won a 2024 National Magazine Award with the Walrus, for whom she also writes a regular column. She has taught creative writing to writers of every stripe at most writing schools and programs within driving distance of her house, including the University of Toronto, the University of Guelph, Sheridan College, and the Writer’s Trust of Canada, and she has served as a visiting writer at Wilfrid Laurier University, the Toronto Public Library, and others. She lives with her family in Tkaronto.
